I agree with you. Tool is the most inspiring and motivating music I have ever experienced. It empowers you to live to your fullest potential.

It is tool of life.

no, its not cocky. there is an obvious stratus of understanding with tool, mostly between.. yeah that sound like great music.. to wow, i fully relate to this.

you are not cocky.. just one of the lucky ones.

i often think though, what tool does tool have?

wow...you people really make me think...its kind of weird because no one can do that..i'm entirely glad i join this thing. but yeah. what kind of tool does tool have anyway? theres something i'll be thinking about for awhile now. and by the way your not cocky. just like manic said your just lucky. have you guys heard earshot...they are supposedly following in tool's foot steps or using them as inspiration or something like that, but in the end no one or no band can ever replace tool...just like nirvana! well those are my thoughts, but i'm still thinking about what kind of tool does tool have? that well take awhile.

a tool to reach nirvana? well, i honestly feel that tool's tool is the journey of the music creation. they are obviously aware of what they are doing, this is apparent in their shift from the strong anger of the opiate days to the empowerment and inspiration of their music today.

their tool is the act and art of creating this experience. they study various elements from majik to eastern music to other unearthly energies, and filter this all through musical minds. they are tightened and adjusted through this process just as we are while experiencing the final product.

working on and designing the tool is just as or more effective as the actual use of the tool

Actually, I never really gave Tool a try, but with all this acclaim, I should check them out, I like "different" music that's "hard to get" TO THE MUSIC STORE! Shocked

tool is one of the most influential bands of all times! i've probably never listened to a band longer, and this goes back to the times i never could really say guitar music was even remotely a fave genre of mine. i guess that in a way they opened my eyes to a lot of things =)
btw, you can check out this band: Roots of Rebellion - very nice mellodic rock with some deep lyrics (all of the band members point out tool as their influence and i find the band itself very interesting)

I was heavy into Tool about two years ago, and I still love em. Things have cooled off since I'm finding new music all the time, but I'll be first in line to get a new Tool album whenever it comes out Smile

TOOL is the bestest!

Loved them since I first heard Sober years and years ago, and I will love them till the day I die. My 7yr old son even likes listening to them.

each album is different but they are all good. undertow has a harder sound, aenima is great from start to finish, and so is lateralus. i'd start with the beginning stuff first and then make your way to the newer stuff.
